Agriculture: HOW TO PLANT CUCUMBER SEEDS STEP-BY-STEP

I recommend sowing them indoors using plantable pots or large pellets, rather than the small tray cells.

Cucumber seedlings don’t like to be transplanted, and doing so can stunt their growth. The plantable pots will minimize the transplant shock.

Supplies Needed:

◇Seeds
◇Water
◇Plantable pots or large peat pellets (optional)
◇Seed starting soil (optional)
◇Seed trays (optional)
◇Clear tray lid (optional)
◇Heat mat (optional)

Step 1: Prepare the soil or pellets – If you want to direct sow them, then loosen up the top few inches of soil in your garden first.

Otherwise, if you’re going to start them indoors, pre-moisten the pellets or potting soil before filling the trays or pots.

Step 2: Decide how many seeds to plant – Indoors, plant one seed per pellet hole or pot. In the garden, space them about 2.5cm apart.

Step 3: Plant the seeds – Since they are fairly large, they should be planted about a half to one inch deep.

You can either lay them on top of the soil, and gently push them down to the proper depth. Or make holes first, and then drop them in.

Step 4: Cover the seeds – When you’re done sowing your cucumber seeds, fill the hole back in with soil. Then gently press it down to ensure the soil comes in contact with them.

Step 5: Water – After you’re done planting, water them well. Make sure the soil is evenly moistened, but not to the point where it’s soggy or completely saturated.

Step 6: Cover the trays indoors – If you’re starting them indoors, cover the trays with a plastic dome lid, and place them in a warm location. Using a heat mat will help them germinate faster.

CUCUMBER GERMINATION TIME

One of the reasons it’s so fun to grow cucumbers from seed is because they sprout very quickly. Their germination time can be anywhere from 3-10 days.

If you want to speed up germination, then keep the soil warm using a heat mat indoors, or plant them in a full sun location outside.

GOOD NEWS Get Your Biafra International Passport Now, Director Of Passport Orders Biafran Citizens

April 12, 2021

Chief Mmaduabuchi
Biafra International Passport

As the cries and agitations for break up of Nigeria from the ethnic groups in the country have taken a great and positive dimensions including with the recent force majeure on Nigeria 1999 constitution.

The 2nd administration of Biafra internal government leaders at their emergency meeting at Biafra seat of power, Owerri discussed intensively on the awareness of Biafra international passport and resolved that now is the best opportunity to make provisions for Biafrans to have access to Biafra international passport.

The Director of Biafra International Passport, Prof. (Chief) Maduabuchi K.S.N who addressed Biafra media reporters after the emergency meeting on 12th of April,  that the Biafra internal government has ordered Biafrans both home and diaspora to come for their international passport because it will be one of the most important forms of identification a Biafran can possess. It is important to have a passport if you plan to travel to a different country so that you will be able to prove who you are and where you are from. And Since travel security measures have increased in the whole world, it is almost impossible to travel without a passport.

Prof. (Chief) Maduabuchi K.S.N is a trained Business Administrator who majored in accountancy and business development said that the Biafra internal government based their decisions on the recent reports from the vice president of Nigeria, Osinbajo warning that Visa Will Be Needed To Kano If Nigeria Breaks Up.

Osinbajo said this while delivering his speech virtually at the 12th Bola Tinubu Colloquium in commemoration of Tinubu’s 69th birthday in Kano as he advised those calling for Nigeria to break up to have a rethink, adding that if Nigeria does break, they may need visas to travel to places like Kano.

And also the statement of father of Biafra nation, chief (Dr.) Ralph Uwazuruike when he hosted the leaders of Biafra De Facto Customary Government and the De Biafra Mobilizers Initiative at Biafra seat of power, Owerri.

Uwazuruike clearly told his guests that Biafra is now an independent nation saying that, I quote: “What we have not gotten is sovereignty but sooner or later, we shall be grateful to have our borders where foreigners will come to our borders, our security men will ask then where is your passport and when they bring it, our immigration officers will stamp it ‘welcome to Biafra ‘”.

Since foreigners will need  their passports to enter Biafra borders, so Biafrans will also need their passports to enter other countries borders which is used to verify one’s country of citizenship. For those that will be traveling outside Biafra country, it will be used to regain entry into Biafra country as a citizen, Prof. Maduabuchi said.

When queried by Biafra internal government national reporter, comrade Ijeomah Anthony on criteria how Biafrans can have access for the passports and locations for application of it; he said that the issuance of the Biafran International Passport is  open to all Biafrans, whoever wants or desires to obtain it.

On locations, We have our consulate office in Lagos: The Temple of peace, No 22, Ajijedidun St, Agunlejika St Ijeshatedo, LAGOS.  Those in Diaspora can reach our Diaspora representatives across the globe.

In Biafra land, any one who wishes to obtain  the passport  is free to reach out to our Zonal (State) and Regional Offices throughout Biafra Land. They should pay the required fee as may be applicable to him/her, obtain the application forms, fill them out and return same for issuance of the passport if found to be qualified after due investigations.

Finally, he added that the department is presently in the process of digitalising both the features of the passport itself and the process of its issuance  and applications.

NEED FOR GOD GOVERNANCE, THE MAIN REASON WHY I SACRIFICED MYSELF FOR NDIGBO – Uwazuruike

By Emmanuel Nnadi, Owerri

My Obsession and indignation with the Nigerian system stems from the prolonged marginalization of Ndigbo. As a child of nine, I witnessed the civil war and also noted the conditions for the truce which culminated in the return of Ndigbo to Nigerian with the refrain ‘no victor, no vanquished’. Within a short while, however, the intent of our oppressor downed on us.

As a seemingly defeated people, we tried to play the balls as they came, hoping that God would touch the minds of the Nigerian Authorities over our plight. But things got unbelievable when Hausa religious leaders under the aegis of religious fundamentalism would instruct their adherents in their Friday Mosque prayers to have their pound of flesh on Ndigbo to appease God. They believe that such would lead them to heaven. As a resulting, scores of Ndigbo would be massacred in parts of the North and their properties looted and destroyed. This became a recurring occurrence as even the securities sent by the Federal Government often took active part in the exercise. Investigations later revealed that Northern Politicians were privy to the instigation of the Alamajiris who they use to settle scores with whoever they had differences with.
To avoid public resentment, the mangled remains of victims were buried in mass graves under the cover of the night. The few lucky escapees would later be apprehended on the way and the same glory treatment meted out on them. In some cases those who managed to find refuge in Police stations were also killed there as was the case of Gideon Akaluka who was beheaded in Kano Central Police Station.

The security of life and property of Ndigbo in Nigeria was no longer guaranteed. The defeated Igbo elites turned the other side to avoid blackmail as supporters of Igbo.

But someone has to carry the cross; someone has to bear the brunt; someone has to make the sacrifice. I decided to do it, not for any other person but for my children. There lives and properties have to be secure in a country they call their own. The person killed in Kano, Kaduna, Maiduguri, Jos or Sokoto, through organised religious riots could be any body’s child, brother, sister, husband, wife or relative. Life is important and highly cherished. Since Nigeria, after thirty-five years of the civil war could not guarantees the security of lives and properties of Ndigbo, the only available option was Biafra. This I did.

The name Biafra is abhorrent to our oppressors. It is a taboo. It is viewed with jaundiced eyes. ‘Who is the rat talking about Biafra? Ralph who?’ they asked. And before the blink of an eye, various raids ensued. Arrests, detentions and murder of Biafran protagonists commenced. But instead of dousing the agitation, it ignited it. Professor Chinua Achebe told me that one with God is Majority.  I am guided by that dictum. I am not afraid as God has always fought just wars. Ours is a war anchored on non-violence, it is God’s war.
