UNPO: It’s Time To Let Biafra Go,BIM-MASSOB Begs Global Body

Amidst Continued Onslaught Against Its Members By Nigeria Security Forces

A call has gone to the Unrepresented Nations and people’s organization, UNPO, to do something urgently to prevail and pressurize the All progressive congress (APC) led Muhammadu Buhari federal government to halt the ongoing victimization, suppression and arrests of the members of BIM-MASSOB.

A statement issued to journalists and signed by the Biafra’s  director of information/ senior special assistant to the president of internal government of Biafra on media and publicit, Elder Chris Mocha said, “the members of BIM-MASSOB are hounded day and night, arrested , tortured and detained on  trump up allegations wthout trial by the repressive regime of president Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria.”

The arrests , detention since March 21,2021 without trial of the members of BIM-MASSOB continued unabated in cross river state, Anambra, Abia, Ebonyi  and Imo states even after it was  explicitly established to the security forces that the arrested members have no link or relationship with the proscribed indigenous people of Biafra, IPOB, they have remained in their detention facility till date 

The presidential spokesperson pleaded with the United States and other relevant Western Nations to  take full responsibility of their actions to accord Biafra recognition adding, ” No responsible government will allow her law abiding citizens to be mowed down on daily basis as was the case in nigeria with impunity and no person had been prosecuted.

The statement added that in the last three  months under review, no fewer than nineteen (19) of BIM-MASSOB members have either disappeared or been arrested, tortured and detained incumunicado by the  combined team comprising of soldiers, police, civil defense and the department of state service, DSS.

“The force should be able to distinguish between a non violence group like BIM-MASSOB which deserves a  better deal of respect and honour than other violent agitators like IPOB”

Insistng that the arrested persons including Mr. Ikechukwu Ajah   are innocent members of a peaceful organization, BIM-MASSOB, campaigning for the rescucitation of Biafra through non violence method, it’s time to let Biafra go, he concluded .

Biafra:  Tension In Onitsha As BIM-MASSOB Member Dies  In Police Custody

Tension is brewing in Onitsha among  the members of Chief Ralph Uwazuruike- led  movement for actualization of sovereign state of Biafra  ( BIM-MASSOB) following the rumoured death of Mr. Ikechukwu Ajah, in police custody in Onitsha, Anambra- state. 

Ikechukwu Ajah was arrested on sunday 21st March along Obodoukwu road, Nkutaku, Ogbaru LGA, for wearing a T-shirt with the inscription ‘ United States of Biafra’ and since then had been detained without trial at the area command’s headquarters, Onitsha .

According to the groups Chief welfare officer for Anambra North , Mr. Kenneth Aririka who briefed the press in a statement said Ikechukwu Ajah died of severe torture inflicted on him by the police while trying to force him to admit a membership of the proscribed indigenous people of Biafra’, IPOB.
 
Aririka said several attempts  made by his counsel and relatives of the detained BIM- MASOB member  at the central police station, CPS, Onitsha, with a view to securing his bail yielded no results.
 
” Policemen prevented us to  see our member who had being kept incommunicado since March 21.  We got to Area commander for Onitsha, Mr. John Obuagbuaka but he ignored our team who visited his office”

Reacting to the rumoured death of Mr. Ikechukwu Ajah in police Custody, Biafra’ director of information and senior special assistant to president of internal government, Elder Chris Mocha demanded for his immediate release if he was still alive.

Mocha said Ikechukwu Ajah is a member of the internationally recognized non – violent organization that is campaigning for Biafra through peaceful means and does not believe in violent agitation.
Mocha wondered why the police had chosen to torture Mr. Ikechukwu to death  even after it was clearly established to the commissioner of police that he belonged to Uwazuruike’s BIM-MASSOB

Security situation in South-East, South-South, critical- IGP

The Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, has described the security situation In the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones of the country as “critical”.

He said the security situation in that part of the country needed an urgent attention that would requires the police force to rejig its operational strategies to ensure that the issues were nipped in the bud.

The IGP spoke at a meeting he held with police strategic commanders in the South-East and South-South geopolitical zones at the Police Force headquarters in Abuja.

He said calling a larger meeting of all Commissioners of Police (CP) and other senior officers would not be right at the moment because of the COVID-19 protocols.

While noting that the present situation needed drastic solution to curb the menace, the IGP said the meeting was aimed at discussing security issues affecting the regions and call for all hands to be on deck.

He said the issues would be discussed as a tram and thereafter, the strategic commanders would go back to their zones to implement the outcome of the meeting.

He said “it is not like we do not have problems in other geopolitical zones of the country but we have to address them one after the other.”

Biafra: Gender Will Play No Role In Electing Leaders – Justice Amamgbo.

The Chief Justice of the Biafra Federation, Hon. Justice Calister Amamgbo yesterday while Speaking at event in Onitsha, the commercial Hub of Biafra, noted that in Biafra gender will play no role in Electing or appointing political position.

It is very important to know that women are not Slaves neither are they tools to be used by men, as it is obtained in most African countries, she said.

According to her, she said  “In Biafra as it has been established by the Father of the new Biafra Nation, Chief Dr. Ralph Uwazuruike that women must exercise the same and equal rights in politics with their male counterparts  without any form of discrimination.

“This doesn’t not imply also that women will not be submissive  to their husbands but the fact is that in politics they have to be given the same and an equal opportunity to contest and be appointed into political offices hence they are willing to serve”.

Her Lordship Hon. Calister Amamgbo an indigene of Okija in Ihiala LGA, Anambra State who became the second Chief Justice after taking over from Chief Vincent Ilogbenu in 2020.

Justice Amangbo noted that in Biafra Internal Government, women occupied some vital positions ranging from the Chief Justice of the Federation, Minister for Special Duties and Minister For Health, Parliamentarians, Chief Ministers among others Positions.

Justice Amangbo who is also known and fondly called “Oji-Ugo Nwanyi” by her admirers,  before she was elected last year by the Judicial Commission, was one of the Appeal Court Judge.

She also urge women to get involved in politics and create history, she added.
